About Me: I am allergic to shellfish and iodine, but this allergy didn't show itself until I was in my twenties (have had a couple serious reactions). In 2000, I went peanut-free - Yay, no more migraines! In 2010, I changed to a gluten-free, dairy-free lifestyle (thinking I was supporting my newly diagnosed son - only to find out that my health was dramatically improved as well). I am now free of gluten, dairy, peanuts, soy, eggs, and shellfish. I am constantly tweaking recipes to make them safer for all of us at home (newest adjustments ... no baking soda, scented items, yeast, and now very low sugar). Not much comes out of a package in our kitchen. My passion is baking!!! I love the journey of learning about nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. And I love sharing with others and gleaning their knowledge as well.

About Daily Forage: I created DailyForage-glutenfree.com specifically for people just beginning their journey into a gluten-free, dairy-free lifestyle. I share recipes that are labeled with allergen-free tags for the top eight allergens. Also on my site is a gluten-free events calendar, a getting started pantry guide (with common pantry items that are surprisingly free of gluten and/or dairy), restaurant and product reviews, and health and general g-f lifestyle tips. Over the past year+, I've incorporated much more healthful, nutritionally balanced recipes for when the shock and adjustment period transitions to pursuing a more whole food lifestyle.
