April Runge is a marketing research consultant and mom, but declares she should have honorary credentials as a special needs educator, specialty diet chef and triage nurse while raising their two children with different medical conditions—allergies, asthma and epilepsy. April co-authored her first children’s picture book Gordy And The Magic Diet after being inspired by her daughter’s harrowing, yet successful, battle to control her catastrophic epilepsy through a highly restrictive dietary therapy.   April is determined to help other children navigate the journey of living on any restricted diet. April has been a dietary therapy coach in her local community with recent speaking engagements at AutismOne, the International Dietary Therapy Symposium for Pediatric Epilepsy and writer workshops for elementary-aged children in the Chicago suburbs.
